Introduction to Textiles Course

About:
This one day course has been designed to help those entering or currently engaged in the fields of fashion, apparel, visual arts and textile industries to improve their technical awareness and gain a wider appreciation of the many facets of the ‘textile pipeline.’
The course focuses on the processes and products that go into making textiles. We will discuss fibers, yarn production, knitting and knitwear, weaving, textile coloration with special focus on digital printing, fabric quality, specifications and as well as taking a look at potential business opportunities

Professionals entering or currently involved in textile related manufacturing, design and product development, and visual arts.
Learning Objectives
At the end of this activity participants will be able to:
•Become familiar with textile terminology relating to fibers, yarns, and fabrics
•Understand the manufacturing methods applied at the various stages of the textile processing chain.

This is an introductory level course and no prior knowledge of textiles is required.
