Plan to attend Mr Mahmoud El Kotb’ s lecture at ITEX CAIRO 2020 titled: Choosing the right fabric for printing Sports & Active Wear scheduled on 9 February, 2020. Mr Kotb is CEO of El Kotb Textiles
Here is an overview of his lecture:
Choosing the right fabric for printed Sportswear and Active wear has always been a complicated task. The choices of fabrics are endless, and companies usually find themselves having to make seemingly tough choices such as: knitted vs woven, natural vs synthetic fibers, digitally printed vs Rotary printed, rigid vs elastic and expensive vs cost friendly material. The answers to those questions are never simple especially while endorsing sustainability in the production process and making sure that the product has a lower environmental footprint impact. To be able to answer those questions companies need to understand the mechanical, physical and chemical features of the fabrics required for their desired garments based on Functionality, price range and environmental aspects.
According to our customers; moisture wicking, breathability, antimicrobial, water resistance and thermal insulation are the most sought-after features in sportswear and active wear across most of the product ranges. Those features offer the consumer a better and safer experience. However, companies should consider that the cost of those features can add dramatically to the prices of fabrics which could potentially render the garments prices too expensive for their target markets.
At Elkotb Textiles , we produce warp knitted fabrics with those aspects in mind. We employ our abilities and experience to design the best fabric to suite our client’s individual technical, financial, environmental goals.
